We understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. 1 CORINTHIANS 2:16
Many Christians have searched for knowledge that he or she has already had. Many of us have cried out to receive guidance and wisdom from God, not realizing that the mind of Christ is already operating in us and filling us with the wisdom we need.
We are told to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness but it is only through a full surrender of our minds to Christ, by trusting His voice within us, that we can hear and know the things we need. We often know the right decision to make, but we have talked ourselves out of it by our own biases and logic. We do not trust the mind within us because we seem to have several minds.
The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He will not force Himself upon us, nor will He speak if we are not listening. And because the world has so much noise, most of us do not know how to listen to the Spirit’s whisper.
But God says that He has given us His mind. What am I talking about? I am talking about being one with Christ and bearing His mind. I am talking about a real relationship with Jesus that is more than just a performance-based religion, where we do things for God in order to get something from Him in return.
We have heard all of these promises but many of us are still living like orphans, acting as though we are on our own in this world. We think that the only way we can know what the Lord wants is by hearing an audible voice or seeing some kind of sign. We act as though we need God to do something spectacular for us before we believe that He really loves us and wants good things for our lives. But this is not true.
God is speaking to you right now. And His voice is already in your heart. You don’t have to pray for Him to speak, and you don’t have to study the Word in order to know His will. The mind of Jesus is already within you, waiting patiently to be discovered. There’s no need to work up the courage or muster up the courage to pray before God—you can be still with Him right now. Turning off your devices, closing your eyes, and waiting upon God simply means focusing yourself on what is already within you: the Spirit of Christ. All you have to do is listen—turn inward and hear His whisper.
Jesus, thank You for Your mind —for sharing Your thoughts with me. Let my mind be filled with Your nature, and give me understanding of Your ways.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/myr2b/message
